Rachelle Chartrand
President
Rachelle Chartrand has been involved in the film industry for over fifteen years, first as an actress and creative producer of numerous short films, including a co-production shot in South Korea; then as a screenwriter, script consultant and president of Women in Film and Television Vancouver; and now as an award-winning producer and president of My Precious Pictures.
A former teacher, Rachelle launched My Precious Pictures, Inc. in 2018 because she believed she would be able to have a larger impact in the world through the power of film. She created My Precious Story Lounge and My Precious Ignitor Club as a fun, meaningful way of rallying other like-minded filmmakers and global citizens who are passionate about transforming the world.
As a screenwriter, Rachelle's screenplays have won or placed in many international competitions, including the Austin Film Festival Screenplay Competition as well as in the Script Pipeline Competition. She has received development funding from Canadian Media Fund, Canadian Media Producers Association, Creative BC and Bell Media Fund; and has had projects in development with some of Canada's biggest production companies.
Gabrielle Rutman
Director of Development
Gabrielle joined the MPP Team as Communications Coordinator in May 2021 before taking over as Director of Development in 2023.
Graduating in 2021 from UBC with a B.F.A in Creative Writing, Gabrielle is passionate about many genres of writing, including writing for film and for television, songwriting, and fiction for adults and young adults. Originally from Victoria BC (the traditional, unceded territory of the Songees and Esquimalt Nations), Gabrielle has been living in Vancouver since 2017. When not writing, she can be found performing around Vancouver with a vintage vocal jazz trio, playing violin, or volunteering with arts-based, community organizations.
